KEM STUDIO is a design firm fusing architecture and industrial design. Our firm was founded and is guided by the fundamental principle that we can make life better through design.
Through this belief and our interdisciplinary approach, we bring a fresh perspective to the projects and interactions we create. With our experience in architecture we understand how to design sustainable projects, how people interact with spaces and how to manage complex projects and resources effectively. Our industrial design experience gives us the advantage of understanding how people interact with products and what it takes to successfully design, manufacture and market those products on a global scale.
Together with the collaboration of our clients, we offer a truly unique perspective and integrated process. One that maximizes a projects potential and produces more authentic design solutions that reflect a strong understanding of how people live, work and play. It’s not just about a space or a product. It’s about how they interact and make each other better. Creating more meaningful interactions is what allows us to make life easier, more enjoyable, and ultimately better by design.
Community
We believe in a more holistic design approach that constantly challenges previous assumptions, grounding our work by offering perspective and establishing relationships between what we do and the world around us. Empathy and humility are integral components of our process of understanding clients – and influence our personal, professional and philanthropic connections to the community.
Education
Part of how we define and reinforce the collaborative nature of our studio is through education. As designers we are students, questioning and learning from every client, project and collaborator – As academic teachers we are also students, learning from those we’ve taught while sharing what we’ve learned with the next generation of designers and the community.
