Following restless nights of sleep evaluating night splints for plantar fasciitis (heal spur) we and our spouses had plenty of directions for improvement. First, we changed the color palette from black to one that fit more in the context of a bedroom and sleep wear, also making it more approachable and comforting. Instead of straps that keep the splint at 45 degrees (and catch your spouse’s feet during the night) we developed a light weight external structure making wearing the splint more comfortable in and out of bed. This is especially beneficial since most night splints are not used past the first week of a 3+ month treatment period because of comfort issues.
